Job description

We're looking for a Junior Coffee Experience & Events Coordinator to join our team and bring Wakuli's coffee experiences to life. In this hands-on role, where you'll work closely with our Head of Product and Partnership Manager, you'll combine warm hospitality with sharp organisation to turn workshops, events, and trainings into moments customers and baristas remember. You'll work across teams from product and partnerships to OOH and operations to coordinate every detail, from mobile bar prep to barista training on our latest seasonal drinks. Your goal: ensure every workshop, event, and roastery visit runs smoothly, every barista feels confident behind the machine, and every customer leaves with a deeper love for specialty coffee. In short, your work will directly shape how people experience Wakuli coffee.

You would be working from our roastery in Watergang, just outside of Amsterdam Noord.

About Wakuli

We love great coffee. That’s why we’re building an alternative coffee industry that actually works. For both farmers and consumers.

How? By working directly with farmer groups around the world. We set up transparent, traceable export lines, roast the beans ourselves and sell the coffee straight to customers. So no unnecessary middlemen or resellers. Those short supply chains make sure farmers always get a good price.

You’ll find us in 21 (and counting) bars across the Netherlands, and online through our own platform. For customers, that means freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to access, relatively affordable and just seriously delicious.

We are building the new coffee brand of the 21st century with a team of like-minded innovators from all over the world. And we’re looking for you.

Job requirements

You'll be the person who makes Wakuli's coffee experiences actually happen. That means running tasting workshops in our bars, prepping the mobile bar for events, hosting customers and new baristas at the roastery, and making sure our barista team is trained on every new product and seasonal drink we launch. You'll also keep our roastery equipment in good shape and be the friendly voice on the other end of the line when a barista's espresso machine starts misbehaving.

It's a hands-on, varied role. One day you're guiding ten guests through a cupping. The next you're loading a coffee cart for a festival, recording a latte art module for the LMS, or troubleshooting a batch brewer. If that mix sounds energising rather than exhausting, you'll fit right in.

What you’ll do

  • Workshops: Coordinate and run coffee tasting workshops in our bars, train baristas and lead baristas to deliver them, and help us build toward higher-level workshop formats.

  • Events: Work alongside our Partnership Manager on event execution: mobile bar prep, barista coordination, on-site delivery, and bringing the kit back home in one piece.

  • Roastery visits: Organise and host visits for customers and new baristas, giving each group a memorable look behind the scenes.

  • Barista training: Build and deliver training on new products, seasonal drinks, and latte art, in person and through our Learning Management System.

  • Equipment maintenance and support: Support baristas with troubleshooting espresso machines, nitro cold brew, and batch brewers, and keep our roastery equipment well maintained.

What You Bring

  • Excellent communication skills, written and in person

  • Organised, detail oriented, and able to run with things autonomously. Strong skills in planning, prioritizing, and aligning multiple stakeholders to deliver on time

  • Genuinely hands-on. Happy preparing a coffee cart for a festival, hauling kit, and maintaining equipment

  • Coffee / cupping knowledge and experience in Horeca is a big plus, but not required. We'll train you on the coffee side if the rest is there.

  • Comfortable in front of a small group, whether it's customers at a workshop or baristas in a training session

What We Offer

  • A challenging role within a dynamic and growing company

  • The opportunity to take ownership of product development and make a tangible impact on our business

  • Opportunities to grow and deepen your knowledge in Specialty Coffee

  • A friendly, supportive team passionate about coffee excellence

  • Pioneering, a lot of responsibility and a steep learning curve

  • The best coffee and direct access to all relevant information, including interaction with our farmer partners worldwide

  • Talented international and impact-driven colleagues with a great team spirit

  • €3000 - €3500 monthly pay (depending on experience / based on full-time)
