Your team
You will join our internal operations team as the new Junior Information Security & Data Privacy Officer. You will directly work with Felix - one of SkillLab’s co-founder and our Director of Internal & Learning Operations.

Your responsibilities
Eager to start a cybersecurity career with our company? This exciting entry-level position is perfect for individuals with a strong passion for cybersecurity and data privacy. You will be involved in a variety of activities:
- Run SkillLab’s cybersecurity operations: Access controls, identity access management, trainings, quarterly fire drills, laptop set-up, supplier screening, answering security questions in tenders, and acting as security & data privacy contact person.
- Operate SkillLab’s Information Security System: Risk assessments, quarterly monitoring, metrics tracking, committee management, objective setting, policy review, annual ISO27001 recertification.
- Implement change projects: Identify, analyse and prioritise important areas to improve cybersecurity and data privacy at SkillLab, in line with cybersecurity risk assessments.
- Embed information security into the wider organisation: Understands SkillLab's strategy and the implications of the strategy for the cybersecurity functions, and work with other teams to address cybersecurity and data privacy risks in their teams.
Your skills
- Prior internship or work experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, or a related topic within an organization.
- Technical cybersecurity skills: A strong technical understanding and background in cybersecurity principles gained through studies, previous practical experience etc.
- Organization skills and learning mindset: An inherent drive for structured work, continuous self-improvement, and a learning mindset.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills:Ability to dissect cybersecurity and privacy issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions.
- Communication and stakeholder management skills: Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external parties on cybersecurity and data privacy matters.
Extra awesome
Experience working within an ISO 27001 compliant Information Security Management System (ISMS).
Salary, start-date & location
- We use a salary benchmark for the Dutch high-tech sector to set your salary based on your experience. We expect that the annual gross salary for the experience we are looking for ranges from 36k-42k Euro per year.
- We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we envision a start date as soon as possible.
- You will enjoy 25 paid vacation days per year (20 days as the statutory minimum holiday entitlement in the Netherlands plus 5 extra days from SkillLab).
- You can work flexibly from our office in Amsterdam and home within the Netherlands. You can also extend your holiday stay in a different country and work from abroad for a limited period of time.
