Your team

You will join our Business team as the new Sales Manager (Enterprise and Government). You will directly report to Rintse who is the Director of Business at SkillLab.

The other professionals that make up the business team are Simon, Azza, Christoph and Ludger as SkillLab’s partners, Arijana as our Solution Consultant and Hayani as Solution Architect.

You will also cooperate with our product teams and Professional Services & Impact department.

Your responsibilities

Pipeline and sales management

  • You will manage complex sales processes, advancing opportunities through the pipeline with accurate forecasting, and lead pre-sales and proposal development with technical sales. Our prospective clients include government agencies, public sector organizations, municipalities, and educational institutions.
  • You will oversee bid committee meetings and contribute to improving sales methodologies and workflows.

Deal Closure & Client Relationship Management

  • You will navigate complex bid/procurement processes and contract negotiations to close deals and finalize agreements.
  • You will build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, understanding their needs.
  • You will manage upsell and extension opportunities, collaborating with the Professional Services & Impact team at SkillLab.

Sales Process Documentation & Communication

  • You will maintain accurate opportunity records within HubSpot.
  • You will report and communicate opportunity status to the company.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • You will track and analyze sales performance data to identify gaps and measure effectiveness.
  • You will provide regular reports and insights to leadership, contributing to strategic decision making.

Your skills

  • 10+ years of work experience in sales management, business development and/or market development. Experience in government/public sector sales will be highly appreciated.
  • Deep understanding of complex government/ enterprise sales processes and ability to execute effective sales strategies.
  • Ability to align sales tactics with business goals, and contribute to continuous improvement of sales methodologies.
  • Skill in developing detailed account acquisition and management plans for large clients.
  • Ability to oversee and contribute to the creation of high-quality proposals.
  • Capability to track, analyze, and interpret sales performance data to drive improvements and inform decision-making.
  • Skill in maintaining detailed and accurate records of sales activities and opportunities.

Extra awesome

  • Subject matter expertise in Labor Market Intermediation or Employment Services (including HR/Employment systems).
  • Experience managing complex sales processes from government/contracting side.

Salary & start-date

  • We use a salary benchmark for the Dutch high-tech sector to set your salary based on your experience. We expect that the annual gross salary for the experience we are looking for ranges from 90k-100k Euro per year.
  • We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we envision a start date as soon as possible.
  • You will enjoy 25 paid vacation days per year (20 days as the statutory minimum holiday entitlement in the Netherlands plus 5 extra days from SkillLab).
  • You can work flexibly from our office in Amsterdam and home within the Netherlands. You can also extend your holiday stay in a different country and work from abroad for a limited period of time.
  • You will get an extensive relocation support to move to Amsterdam including visa sponsorship, 30% ruling application, your plane tickets, covered real estate agent fees, etc.
