Social Media Manager / Creative (Freelance)

Who we are
Let's bring convenience to care: Ditto is on a mission to revolutionize care by providing people the right info, in the right format, at the right time.
Why? Imagine your grandmother bringing one of her children to every hospital visit, because she does not fully grasp what was said. Let alone recall it at home. Or stitching together your own medical history from ten portals, in Latin. Healthcare is built for providers and leaves people passive and ill-understood. In other words, it forces us to be patient. We think that should be different.
What? Today, an AI-powered app that clarifies any healthcare encounter and document. Soon, a platform where you track your own care and invite loved ones to follow along. In short: the Polarsteps for Health.
Who? A young but turbo ambitious team with little patience for the status quo. Days after launch we were the #1 healthcare app in the Netherlands and 15 newspapers covered us.
We are starting this as a freelance role. Partly to move fast, partly because neither of us can know yet whether this is a fit. If it turns out to be, and we hope it does, we would love to make it permanent, with equity and all.
Why this role exists
Now the honest part: where it counts, we are invisible. Instagram is barely warm. In the patient and caregiver communities where our people spend their evenings, we are not there at all.
So this is not a "grow our channels by 20 percent" job. It is a "post number one" job. Everything after that is yours: the voice, the formats, the faces, the first creator we work with.
We go where our people already are, and where patients and caregivers already tell their stories: Instagram, creator channels, and the communities themselves. Not LinkedIn, that one works on hospitals and insurers. You point at people. Reach here is earned rather than borrowed from an algorithm: you cannot target a diagnosis with ads, and you never cold-message someone mid-diagnosis. Paid gets us installs, you build the layer that compounds.
Fair warning: this is three jobs in a trench coat. The creative who shoots and edits, the person who builds creator relationships, and eventually the one who turns a following into a community. Either that is terrifying or it is the best part of the pitch, and we are curious which.
What you'll do
Make the content
Own video end to end: concept, shoot, edit, publish
Spot formats early and turn them into on-brand Ditto concepts, fast
Show up on camera where the story calls for it
Write copy that reads like one real person talking to another
Adapt to each room. What lands in a Reel does not land in a patient community, where you are a guest before you are a brand
Build the creator network
Find, brief and manage patient- and caregiver-advocates already documenting their journey publicly
Prioritize caregivers alongside patients: usually the ones organizing care, and the most comfortable being public
Feed our paid social with creator-style creative, so broad campaigns self-select the right audience
Grow the community
Build our presence in patient and caregiver communities (Facebook groups, patient associations, kanker.nl) through helpfulness, never ads-in-the-group
Carry the care-circle hook: invite people to bring in the family and friends helping them. That is Ditto's viral loop
Track what earns affinity and activation, not views
What success looks like
Month one: posting consistently, and it sounds like a person
Quarter one: a handful of creator partnerships live, and a production rhythm nobody has to chase you for
Half a year: invited into the communities that matter rather than tolerated, and content that shows up as installs and activated users
Year one: an audience that trusts us, a creator network we can switch on for any launch, and a community starting to pull people in by itself
Numbers we set together. We care about affinity and activation, not vanity metrics.
Who you are
2-3 years as a social or content creative, ideally with influencer or community experience
Fluent Dutch, strong English
You shoot and edit your own work, with an eye for lighting, framing and pacing
As comfortable building a creator relationship as making the work yourself
Quick with ideas, not precious about killing the ones that don't land
Sharp trend radar, plus the judgment to skip the ones that would make us look ridiculous
A portfolio of work you made and the results it drove
Comfortable in CapCut, Reels, Adobe CC
Tact. Cancer, caregiving and grief demand it, and you know the line between authentic and exploitative
Not thrown by a blank page and no audience to inherit
